This USGS 15-minute topographic map is a 1954 edition printed in 1964, kept in very good condition on thick stock and never folded, showing only a very light horizontal midline crease. The quad sits in the central Adirondacks of Hamilton County, New York, taking in the waters of Raquette Lake for which it is named, with the boundaries reaching south toward Speculator. Surveyed from aerial and field work in 1953 and 1954, it captures a stretch of Adirondack lake country whose peaks, ponds, and forest are traced at a 20-foot contour interval. The clean map area and heavier paper make it a strong candidate for framing.
