This USGS 7.5-minute topographic sheet is a 1965 edition, printed in 1966, and is in very good condition on thick stock. Covering the Lake Calumet area on Chicago’s far South Side, the quad crosses the Illinois-Indiana state line and takes in parts of Hammond, Calumet City, Dolton, Riverdale, and the towns of Whiting and Burnham. The map catches the heavily industrialized Calumet region of lakefront, harbor, and rail corridors that defined Chicago’s steelmaking district in the mid-1960s. The sheet is moderately handled with a midsheet horizontal foldline and a color-pencilled map title on the back, while the map area itself carries no markings or blemishes.
