This USGS 15-minute topographic map is a 1952 edition printed in 1973, in excellent condition on thick stock, never folded and kept smooth and flat with a flawless map area. It takes in a stretch of the Panamint Range within Death Valley National Park in Inyo County, California, with Telescope Peak defining the sheet and parts of the Death Valley and Surprise Canyon Wilderness areas within its boundaries. Telescope Peak stands as the highest point above Death Valley, and the 80-foot contour interval traces the steep rise from the desert floor to its summit ridge. Having never been folded, the sheet is a good candidate for framing.
