This is a USGS 7.5-minute topographic map of Vail West, Colorado, a 1970 edition printed in 1973, in very good condition with light handling and foldlines. The quad sits in Eagle County about 77 miles west of Denver and takes in the town of Vail along with Avon, and its boundaries reach into the White River National Forest and the Eagles Nest Wilderness. Mapped in the high country of the Colorado Rockies with 40-foot contours, it captures Vail early in its life as a ski town, when the resort founded in the 1960s was still young.
