First published in 1950 and printed in 1967, this USGS 15-minute topographic sheet is in very good condition, lightly handled and never folded. Drawn from a 1947 through 1950 aerial and field survey, it takes in country roughly 15 miles south of Helena, with the quad boundaries including Clancy, Jefferson City, Basin, and Corbin along with portions of the Helena and Deerlodge National Forests and the Elkhorn Wilderness Study Area. Because the survey work predates Interstate 15, the sheet shows this stretch of Jefferson and Lewis and Clark counties before the highway cut through it.
