This USGS 15-minute topographic map is a 1955 edition printed in 1983, and the sheet is in very good condition, lightly handled and never folded. Straddling the Montana-Wyoming line, the quad takes in the country around Gardiner and Corwin Springs along the northern edge of Yellowstone National Park, with parts of Gallatin National Forest and the Absaroka-Beartooth Wilderness within its boundaries. The 80-foot contour interval reflects the steep terrain along the upper Yellowstone River corridor, the main route into the park from the north. Because the sheet was never folded, it lies flat and is well suited to framing.
