This USGS 15-minute topographic sheet is a 1922 edition drawn from A.B. Searle’s field survey that year, printed in 1960 and in excellent condition: never folded, smooth and flat, with a flawless map area and only hole punches along the left collar. Covering roughly 14 by 17 miles of Pinal County southeast of Phoenix, the quad takes in Casa Grande and the surrounding towns of Eloy, Coolidge, and Arizona City, along with the communities of Toltec, Randolph, and La Palma, plus part of the Casa Grande Ruins National Monument and portions of the Gila River and Tohono O’odham reservations. The monument preserves the great Hohokam earthen structure that gives the area its name, and the map records the irrigated farm country that grew up across this stretch of desert. Printed on thick stock and never folded, the sheet is well suited to framing.

All known structures (houses, businesses, churches, schools, barns, cabins, etc) are also shown, with exceptions in some urban areas, where only landmark buildings may be shown.

Maps from the 15-minute series for the continental United States are no longer produced or printed by the USGS and original prints are becoming increasingly difficult to find.
