A 1959 edition printed in 1965, this USGS 15-minute topographic sheet is in excellent condition, never folded, smooth and flat on thick stock. Covering an area about 80 miles south of Phoenix in Pima County, the quad takes in the Silverbell Mountains along with portions of the Tohono O’odham Indian Reservation and Ironwood Forest National Monument. The Silverbell range gives the sheet its defining terrain, desert mountain country mapped from a 1958 and 1959 aerial and field survey and drawn here at a 40-foot contour interval. From the vintage map collection of Art Christiansen of Tempe, Arizona, with only very slight age toning on the right collar edge.
