This USGS 15-minute topographic map is a 1949 edition, printed in 1969, in excellent condition on thick stock. The quad covers the northern Owens Valley in Inyo and Mono counties, taking in Bishop, West Bishop, Dixon Lane-Meadow Creek, and the community of Laws, with portions of the Inyo and Toiyabe national forests and several wilderness study areas within its boundaries. The Owens Valley sits between the eastern Sierra and the White Mountains, and this sheet takes in that high desert country along the Sierra’s rain shadow, with the 80-foot contour interval reflecting the steep relief around it. Never folded and very lightly handled, the sheet has a flawless map area and a clean collar, so it lies flat and would frame well.
