Camp Nelson California USGS 15-Min Topo Map 1977 Vintage
$47
This USGS 15-minute topographic map is a 1956 edition, printed in 1977, in excellent condition on thick stock. Covering a stretch of the southern Sierra Nevada in Tulare County, the quad takes in the small community of Camp Nelson along with portions of Sequoia National Forest, the Tule River Indian Reservation, and the Golden Trout Wilderness, mapped at 80-foot contours across steep, high country. Printed on heavy paper and never folded, with a flawless map area and a clean collar free of markings, the sheet has been very lightly handled and would frame well for anyone drawn to this pocket of the Sierra.

FEATURES SHOWN ON THE MAP
The Camp Nelson 15-minute map shows cities and towns, roads, railroads, utilities and energy infrastructure, rivers, creeks, elevation contour lines, public land survey lines, county, state, and other administrative boundaries as they existed at the time of the survey in 1954 and 1956. All known structures (houses, businesses, churches, schools, barns, cabins, etc) are also shown.
A VALUABLE HISTORICAL RECORD
Maps from the 15-minute series for the continental United States are no longer produced or printed by the USGS and original prints are becoming increasingly difficult to find. They are a valuable historical record for an area, as they contain many placenames and features that have been dropped from more recent maps.
