Printed in 1929 in its year of first publication, this antique USGS 7.5-minute topographic sheet is in very good condition, moderately handled but never folded, on thick stock. Set in the hills of Kern and Tulare counties about 30 miles north of Bakersfield, the quad area takes in White River and a stretch of SCE transmission line, with the eastern and southern portion of the map left unsurveyed. Drawn from a 1926 field survey under geographer Bishop Moorhead, it captures the hill country east of Richgrove as USGS recorded it at the close of the 1920s, and the reverse carries printed reference material. Minor edge tears in the collar have been stabilized with archival tape on the back.
