Sunlight Peak Wyoming Pahaska Tepee USGS Topo Map 1980
$45
This USGS 15-minute topographic map is a 1956 edition with 1973 revisions, printed in 1980, and the sheet is in excellent condition – very lightly handled and never folded, on thick stock. The quad sits in the mountains of Park County, Wyoming, about 40 miles west of Cody, taking in part of the northeastern corner of Yellowstone National Park along with portions of Shoshone National Forest and the North Absaroka Wilderness; Pahaska Tepee lies within its boundaries. The 80-foot contour interval reflects the steep, high country the map covers, rugged backcountry along the eastern approach to Yellowstone, and the flawless map area and clean, unmarked collar make this a sheet that would frame well.

FEATURES SHOWN ON THE MAP
The Sunlight Peak 15-minute map shows cities and towns, roads, railroads, utilities and energy infrastructure, rivers, creeks, elevation contour lines, public land survey lines, county, state, and other administrative boundaries as they existed at the time of the survey in 1949 through 1956. All known structures (houses, businesses, churches, schools, barns, cabins, etc) are also shown.
A VALUABLE HISTORICAL RECORD
Maps from the 15-minute series for the continental United States are no longer produced or printed by the USGS and original prints are becoming increasingly difficult to find. They are a valuable historical record for an area, as they contain many placenames and features that have been dropped from more recent maps.
