Covering a stretch of southeastern New Hampshire about 20 miles northwest of Dover, the quad area takes in Farmington, Strafford, and the community of Union, spanning parts of Belknap, Carroll, Merrimack, Rockingham, and Strafford counties. The 20-foot contour interval traces the rolling terrain of the state’s lakes region, and the base map draws on a 1917 field survey that captures the road and rail network of the era.
