This USGS 7.5-minute topographic map is a 1953 edition carrying 1967 and 1973 revisions, printed in 1975, and the sheet is in excellent condition – lightly handled, never folded, smooth and flat, with a flawless map area. Sitting across King, Kitsap, and Pierce counties southwest of Seattle, the quad area takes in the community of Olalla along with Lisabeula, Fragaria, and Cove, and part of Vashon Island to the east across Colvos Passage. The 20-foot contours trace the wooded shoreline and inlets of southern Puget Sound, the kind of detail that stands out for anyone with ties to these small waterfront communities. A library stamp in the top collar and small inventory notations in the lower corners are the only marks; because the sheet has never been folded and lies flat, it frames well.

This vintage sheet is a 1953 edition of the Olalla Washington USGS topographic map revised in 1967 and 1973 using aerial photography. It is an original 51-year-old 1975 United States Geological Survey print in excellent condition.

This map is from the 7.5-minute series, the most detailed series that is widely available from the USGS. The 1953 Olalla map is a valuable historical record for the area. It contains some placenames and features that have been dropped from more recent maps.

The map was photorevised in 1967 and 1973. Any features that changed or were added between the original edition year of 1953 and the photorevision year of 1967 and 1973 are overlayed in purple. The purple overlay provides an excellent view of the fast-growing and changing areas within the quad boundary.
