Blanca Lake Washington USGS 7.5-Min Topo Map 1982 Vintage

$40

This USGS 7.5-minute topographic map is a 1965 edition carrying photorevisions through 1982, the year this sheet was printed, and it is in excellent condition: never folded, smooth and flat, with only a library stamp in the lower right collar corner. Set in the North Cascades of Snohomish County about 53 miles northeast of Seattle, the quad takes in high mountain terrain within the Mount Baker and Snoqualmie National Forests and part of the Henry M. Jackson Wilderness. The 40-foot contours trace the steep, rugged backcountry around Blanca Lake, and since the sheet was never folded and lies flat, it is a good candidate for framing.

FEATURES SHOWN ON THE MAP
The Blanca Lake 7.5-minute map shows cities and towns, roads, paths, railroads, utilities and energy infrastructure, rivers, creeks, elevation contour lines, public land survey lines, county, state, and other administrative boundaries as they existed at the time of the survey in 1958 and 1965. All known structures (houses, businesses, churches, schools, barns, cabins, etc) are also shown.

A VALUABLE HISTORICAL RECORD
This map is from the 7.5-minute series, the most detailed series that is widely available from the USGS. The 1965 Blanca Lake map is a valuable historical record for the area. It contains some placenames and features that have been dropped from more recent maps.

The map was photorevised in 1982. Any features that changed or were added between the original edition year of 1965 and the photorevision year of 1982 are overlayed in purple. The purple overlay provides an excellent view of the fast-growing and changing areas within the quad boundary.
