Printed in its year of first publication, 1950, this 15-minute USGS topographic sheet is in excellent condition—very lightly handled, never folded, and on thick stock that has kept it smooth and flat. Its 100-foot contours trace the rugged eastern Olympics, taking in portions of Olympic National Park and Olympic National Forest along with The Brothers Wilderness and part of the Mount Skokomish Wilderness, while the community of Eldon lies within the quad’s boundaries near Hood Canal. The Brothers itself is one of the most recognizable summits on the Olympic skyline, a twin-peaked landmark visible from the Seattle side of Puget Sound. A small library stamp in the bottom collar and a light blemish in the lower right are the only marks on an otherwise flawless sheet.
