This USGS 7.5-minute topographic map is a 1953 edition printed in 1976, carrying photorevisions from 1968 and 1973, and the sheet is in excellent condition—lightly handled, never folded, on thick stock. Covering a 6-by-9-mile stretch about 14 miles north of Seattle, the quad area takes in Edmonds, Lynnwood, Shoreline, and Brier, spanning the King–Snohomish county line. The 1973 photorevision records considerable expansion of the suburbs here, showing the postwar spread of neighborhoods across the ground north of the city. Its flawless map area and never-folded condition make it well suited to framing, with only small inventory notations and a library stamp in the collar.

This map is from the 7.5-minute series, the most detailed series that is widely available from the USGS. The 1953 Edmonds East map is a valuable historical record for the area. It contains some placenames and features that have been dropped from more recent maps.

The map was photorevised in 1968 and 1973. Any features that changed or were added between the original edition year of 1953 and the photorevision year of 1968 and 1973 are overlayed in purple. The purple overlay provides an excellent view of the fast-growing and changing areas within the quad boundary.
