Raisin California San Joaquin Valley USGS Topo Map 1947
$38
A fascinating historical snapshot of the San Joaquin Valley southwest of Fresno, surveyed before the modern road system and before the current agricultural footprint, showing historic levees, canals, placenames, and all known ranches, schools, rail lines, and structures. This is a 1947 USGS topographic sheet of the Raisin quadrangle in California’s San Joaquin Valley, at the detailed 7.5-minute scale with 5-foot contours. The quad area covers flat farmland in Fresno County about 16 miles southwest of Fresno, including the small community of Raisin City, and takes in the canals and levees that watered the valley’s raisin-grape and row-crop country in that era.
