Printed in its year of first publication, 1948, this USGS 7.5-minute topographic sheet is in good condition, lightly handled with a single midsheet horizontal foldline where it was folded in half. It covers a stretch of Madera County in California’s San Joaquin Valley, roughly 33 miles northwest of Fresno, with a five-foot contour interval mapping the flat valley floor in fine detail. Drawn on thick stock from a 1919 aerial and field survey and carrying revisions through 1946, the sheet has neatly pencilled minute lines within the map area, and its reverse carries printed reference material about the mapping program.
