This USGS 7.5-minute topographic sheet is a first-year 1947 print, published in that same year and printed on thick stock, in good condition with light handling and a midsheet horizontal foldline. Covering a stretch of Fresno County farmland about 16 miles west of Fresno, the quad takes in the town of Kerman along with the Raisin City Oil Fields and Madera Avenue. The 1947 edition, drawn from a 1920 aerial and field survey with 1946 revisions, records the flat San Joaquin Valley cropland and the oil development that shared this ground, and the reverse carries printed reference material on reading the map.
