Printed in its year of first publication, 1942, this USGS and War Department topographic sheet is in good condition, with random foldlines and a vertical foldline along the left map edge; at 84 years old it survives on thick stock, with minor blemishes and thumbtack holes in the collar corners. The quad takes in a stretch of Washington’s Olympic Peninsula coast roughly 30 miles west of Port Angeles, within Clallam County and including part of Olympic National Forest. Drawn from a 1918 and 1941 aerial and field survey, it records this corner of the northern Olympic country as it looked during the Second World War.
