This USGS 15-minute topographic map is a 1960 edition printed in 1962, and the sheet is in excellent condition, never folded and very lightly handled with only minor crinkling in the upper right corner. Covering a stretch of central Nevada roughly 75 miles north of Tonopah across Lander and Nye counties, it takes in Wildcat Peak and part of the Toiyabe National Forest, drawn from aerial and field survey work in 1956 and 1960. The 80-foot contour interval traces out the rugged, largely undeveloped high country of the region, and with a flawless map area the sheet would frame well for anyone drawn to this quiet corner of the Great Basin.

A reddish tint may be used on this sheet to indicate urban areas where only landmark buildings will be shown. Outside of those areas, all known structures (houses, businesses churches, schools, barns, cabins, etc) are shown.

A VALUABLE HISTORICAL RECORD
Maps from the 15-minute series for the continental United States are no longer produced or printed by the USGS and original prints are becoming increasingly difficult to find.
