This USGS 7.5-minute topographic map is a 1952 edition printed in 1953, a never-folded sheet on thick stock kept in very good condition with only light handling and a flawless map area. It takes in the country just north of Nashville-Davidson, covering the area around Goodlettsville, Hendersonville, and Millersville across Davidson and Sumner counties. Surveyed from 1950 to 1952, before the suburban growth of recent decades, it records historic travel routes, river crossings, rail lines, and the houses known at the time – a look at the area north of Nashville as it stood before Old Hickory Lake existed.
