A 1958 edition printed in 1959, this 7.5-minute USGS topographic sheet is in very good condition, lightly handled and never folded, with a flawless map area and only a set of library stamps in the bottom right collar. Covering the eastern side of Chattanooga in Hamilton County, Tennessee, the quad area takes in East Ridge, East Brainerd, and the communities of Ridgeside and Shepherd, along with part of Chickamauga Lake to the northeast. Surveyed by aerial and field methods with the Tennessee Valley Authority credited as geographer, the sheet reflects the postwar valley the TVA had reshaped, and its heavy stock has kept the never-folded sheet flat.

A reddish tint is used on this sheet to indicate urban areas where only landmark buildings are depicted. Outside of those areas, all known structures (houses, businesses, churches, schools, barns, cabins, etc) are shown.
