Mount Holmes Wyoming USGS 15-Min Topo Map 1979 Vintage
$39
A 1958 edition printed in 1979, this USGS 15-minute topographic sheet is in very good condition on thick stock, never folded and kept smooth and flat with a flawless map area. It takes in a stretch of northwestern Yellowstone National Park along the Wyoming-Montana line, roughly 55 miles south of Bozeman, with Mount Holmes itself the peak the quad is named for. The 40-foot contours trace steep, forested backcountry high in the park’s interior, the kind of rugged terrain that has little in the way of roads or settlement. Its clean, flat condition also makes it a good candidate for framing.

FEATURES SHOWN ON THE MAP
The Mount Holmes 15-minute map shows cities and towns, roads, railroads, utilities and energy infrastructure, rivers, creeks, elevation contour lines, public land survey lines, county, state, and other administrative boundaries as they existed at the time of the survey in 1954 and 1958. All known structures (houses, businesses, churches, schools, barns, cabins, etc) are also shown.
A VALUABLE HISTORICAL RECORD
Maps from the 15-minute series for the continental United States are no longer produced or printed by the USGS and original prints are becoming increasingly difficult to find. They are a valuable historical record for an area, as they contain many placenames and features that have been dropped from more recent maps.
