This USGS 15-minute topographic map is a 1950 edition printed in 1974, in very good condition on thick stock, lightly handled and never folded. The quad sits just east of Helena in west-central Montana, and its boundaries take in East Helena, Montana City, Clancy, the Helena Valley communities, and part of the Helena National Forest across Broadwater, Jefferson, and Lewis and Clark counties. Based on a 1947 and 1950 aerial and field survey, the map records the area before Interstate 15 was built, showing the roads and valley settlements as they stood at mid-century. The flawless map area and clean collar, together with the heavier stock, make this a sturdy sheet that would frame well.
