Trigo Peaks Arizona Dome Rock Mountains USGS Topo Map 1955
$37
This USGS 15-minute topographic map is a 1954 edition, printed in 1955, and the sheet is in very good condition: lightly handled, never folded, with very lightly age-toned paper on thick stock. Covering a stretch of desert country in La Paz and Yuma counties about 50 miles north of Yuma, the quad takes in part of the Dome Rock Mountains and the Chocolate Mountains along the lower Colorado River corridor. Drawn from a 1933 and 1934 aerial and field survey, it maps rugged, largely undeveloped Arizona backcountry at a 25-foot contour interval, and comes from the vintage map collection of Art Christiansen of Tempe, Arizona.

FEATURES SHOWN ON THE MAP
The Trigo Peaks 15-minute map shows cities and towns, roads, railroads, utilities and energy infrastructure, rivers, creeks, elevation contour lines, public land survey lines, county, state, and other administrative boundaries as they existed at the time of the survey in 1933 and 1934. All known structures (houses, businesses, churches, schools, barns, cabins, etc) are also shown.
A VALUABLE HISTORICAL RECORD
Maps from the 15-minute series for the continental United States are no longer produced or printed by the USGS and original prints are becoming increasingly difficult to find. They are a valuable historical record for an area, as they contain many placenames and features that have been dropped from more recent maps.
