This USGS 15-minute shaded relief topo is a 1949 edition, printed in 1969, and the sheet is in very good condition, never folded and only lightly handled. Based on a 1947 through 1949 aerial and field survey, it takes in the Madison County town of Ennis along with the smaller communities of McAllister and Jeffers, and reaches into parts of Gallatin National Forest and the Lee Metcalf Wilderness. The relief shading brings out the rugged high country of southwest Montana, terrain long tied to the Madison River valley and its trout waters. The map area is flawless and the collar shows no wear or markings.
