A 1946 edition of this USGS 15-minute topographic quad, printed in 1965 on thick stock and kept in excellent condition – very lightly handled, never folded, and smooth and flat, with only a small inventory stamp on the bottom left collar. Covering a stretch of Maricopa County in the vicinity of Phoenix, the quad area takes in Avondale, Goodyear, Buckeye, Tolleson, and Litchfield Park, along with portions of the Gila River Indian Reservation and the Sierra Estrella Wilderness. Based on a 1946 aerial and field survey, it records the Southwest Valley before the spread of suburbia, and comes from the vintage map collection of Art Christiansen of Tempe, Arizona.
