This USGS 15-minute topographic map is a 1958 edition printed in 1965, in very good condition on thick stock with a flawless map area and only very minor collar wear. Spanning the Utah–Colorado line about 30 miles west of Cortez, the quad takes in country along Montezuma Creek and includes portions of the Navajo Indian Reservation, Hovenweep National Monument, and Canyons of the Ancients National Monument. This is the high-desert mesa country of the Four Corners, dense with ancestral Puebloan sites that later drew the national monument designations marked on the sheet. The sheet was never folded and, being printed on heavier stock, has been kept flat and clean.
