This USGS 15-minute topographic map is a 1952 edition printed in 1958, and the sheet is in very good condition, never folded on thick stock. Drawn from 1951 and 1952 aerial and field survey, it covers a stretch of south-central Utah spanning Garfield and Wayne counties, and includes Capitol Reef National Park and the Waterpocket Fold. The 80-foot contour interval tracks the steep sandstone country of the fold, the long ridge of tilted rock that gives this part of the park its distinctive terrain. The sheet carries a library stamp in the bottom right collar and some handling wear along the bottom collar.
