This USGS 15-minute topographic sheet is a first-year 1925 print, in very good condition, on thick stock and never folded. The quad sits in Emery County, Utah, about 80 miles south of Provo, taking in the towns of Castle Dale, Ferron, and Orangeville along with the community of Clawson, and reaches into part of the Manti-La Sal National Forest. Drawn from a 1922 and 1923 field survey under geographer W.B. Upton, Jr., it shows this stretch of central Utah’s Castle Valley farm towns as they stood in the mid-1920s, and the reverse carries printed reference material on reading the map. Having reached 101 years on heavy paper with no wear or markings in the map area, it is a clean example of the era.
