Woodside Utah Book Cliffs Cedar USGS Topographic Map 1973
$37
A 1949 edition of this Woodside quad, printed in 1973 on thick stock, the sheet is in very good condition with light handling and midsheet horizontal and vertical foldlines. Covering country about 30 miles southeast of Price in Carbon and Emery counties, the quad takes in the Book Cliffs and the Price River, along with the small community of Woodside and portions of the Turtle Canyon and Desolation Canyon Wilderness Study Areas. The Book Cliffs form a long escarpment across this stretch of eastern Utah, and at a 100-foot contour interval the map lays out the rugged canyon-and-bench terrain that defines the region.

FEATURES SHOWN ON THE MAP
The Woodside 15-minute map shows cities and towns, roads, railroads, utilities and energy infrastructure, rivers, creeks, elevation contour lines, public land survey lines, county, state, and other administrative boundaries as they existed at the time of the survey in 1938 through 1949. All known structures (houses, businesses, churches, schools, barns, cabins, etc) are also shown.
A VALUABLE HISTORICAL RECORD
Maps from the 15-minute series for the continental United States are no longer produced or printed by the USGS and original prints are becoming increasingly difficult to find. They are a valuable historical record for an area, as they contain many placenames and features that have been dropped from more recent maps.
