Printed in 1951, its year of first publication, this USGS 15-minute topographic sheet is in excellent condition, lightly handled and never folded, on thick stock with only small library stamps in the collar. Covering ground north of Spokane, the quad area takes in the town of Deer Park along with Fairwood, Country Homes, Mead, Colbert, Chattaroy, and Milan. Built from 1946 and 1949 aerial and field survey work, it shows the countryside around Deer Park as it stood at mid-century, before much of Spokane’s northern suburban growth. Because the sheet was never folded and lies flat, it frames well.
