This 7.5-minute USGS topographic map is a 1966 edition with 1978 revisions, printed in 1978, and the sheet is in excellent condition—very lightly handled, never folded, and smooth and flat. Straddling the Washington-Oregon line about 41 miles east of Kennewick, the quad takes in the city of Walla Walla along with College Place, Garrett, and Mill Creek. Walla Walla sits at the heart of a wheat-growing and wine country whose surrounding farmland shows clearly at this 1:24,000 scale with its 10-foot contours. A library stamp in the top collar and a very small inventory notation in the lower right corner are the only marks on an otherwise flawless sheet, which having never been folded would frame well.
