Printed in its year of first publication, 1952, this USGS 15-minute topographic sheet is in very good condition, lightly handled and never folded on thick stock. The quad sits in the rolling Palouse wheat country of southeastern Washington, taking in the small communities of Benge and Hooper across Adams and Whitman counties, with the Palouse River winding through. Drawn from 1946 and 1950 aerial and field surveys, it maps a stretch of dryland farming country at a 40-foot contour interval, and its clean, unfolded state makes it a good candidate for framing; a small library stamp sits in the lower right collar.
