Printed in its year of first publication, 1952, this USGS 15-minute topographic sheet is in excellent condition—very lightly handled, never folded, and printed on thick stock, with only a small library stamp in the collar. It covers a stretch of the Palouse River country in southeastern Washington, about 60 miles south of Spokane, taking in the communities of La Crosse and Winona across Adams and Whitman counties. The 1952 edition captures this dryland wheat-farming country of the Palouse at mid-century, and because the sheet was never folded, the map area remains smooth and flawless.
