Printed in its year of first publication, 1961, this USGS 7.5-minute topographic sheet is in fair condition, moderately handled with foldlines and some wear along them. Covering a 7-by-9-mile stretch of Larimer County northwest of Denver, the quad takes in the town of Estes Park along with portions of Rocky Mountain National Park, Roosevelt National Forest, and the Comanche Peak Wilderness. As the eastern gateway to Rocky Mountain National Park, Estes Park sits where the plains give way to high country, and the 40-foot contours trace that abrupt climb into the mountains. Printed on thick stock, which holds up well over time.
