Printed in its year of first publication, 1944, this vintage USGS 7.5-minute topographic sheet is in very good condition, never folded and only lightly handled, on thick stock. Surveyed in 1938 by B.A. McNally, it takes in the area north of Denver that has since become Thornton, Brighton, and Broomfield, roughly from 100th Avenue up to 168th, along with the community of Eastlake and land in Adams and Weld counties. It captures this ground well before the suburban construction that would fill it in, showing the terrain much as it was in the 1930s and 1940s. The reverse carries printed reference material about the mapping program and how to read the contours.
