This USGS 15-minute topographic map is a 1958 edition printed in 1960, kept in excellent condition on thick stock, lightly handled and never folded. Covering high country in the White Mountains of eastern Arizona about 60 miles north of Safford, the quad takes in parts of the Apache National Forest and the Bear Wallow Wilderness, with the surrounding boundaries reaching into Apache, Graham, and Greenlee counties. The map depicts a stretch of forested backcountry long known for elk and as home range of the Mexican gray wolf, the kind of high, wooded terrain that gives Hannagan Meadow its character. Having never been folded and printed on heavy stock, the flawless map area and clean collar make this a strong candidate for framing.
