This USGS 15-minute topographic map is a 1961 edition printed in 1963, an excellent sheet that was never folded and remains smooth and flat on thick stock, with hole punches in the left collar. Drawn from 1958 and 1961 aerial and field surveys, it takes in the country around Cibecue in Gila and Navajo counties, including part of the Fort Apache Indian Reservation, with Chediski Peak giving the quad its name. This is the ground that later burned in the 2002 Rodeo-Chediski fire, one of the largest in Arizona history, mapped here as it stood four decades before.
