Kau Desert Hawaii Hawaii Volcanoes USGS Topographic Map 1983

$48

This USGS 7.5-minute topographic map is a 1981 edition printed in 1983, and the sheet is in very good condition, never folded with only a light crease on its left side. It covers part of Hawaii Volcanoes National Park and the Hawaii Volcanoes Wilderness on the island of Hawaii, about 32 miles southwest of Hilo, taking in the Kau Desert and the steep coastal escarpment of Hilina Pali. Drawn from aerial and field survey work carried out between 1954 and 1981, its 20-foot contours trace the arid volcanic terrain that gives this stretch of the park its stark, weathered character.
