This USGS 7.5-minute topographic map is a 1954 edition printed in 1966, a sheet that was never folded and has been lightly handled, in very good condition. Covering Marin County across the water from San Francisco, the quad area takes in San Rafael, Mill Valley, San Anselmo, Larkspur, and the smaller communities of Corte Madera, Tiburon, and Fairfax, along with part of Muir Woods National Monument. The 40-foot contours trace the steep coastal terrain that rises toward Mount Tamalpais, giving a clear read of how these towns sit tucked among the hills and inlets north of the Golden Gate. Because it was never folded, this sheet lies flat and would frame well.
