This 1954 edition of the Point Bonita quad, printed in 1955 on thick stock, is in very good condition, having been very lightly handled and never folded with a flawless map area. Part of the 7.5-minute series at 1:24,000, it takes in the Marin Headlands at the north side of the Golden Gate, with the quad area extending across San Francisco Bay’s mouth and including Sausalito, Marin City, and Muir Beach along the Marin coast. This stretch of shoreline where the Pacific meets the Golden Gate takes in the rugged coastal bluffs of Point Bonita itself and part of the California Coastal National Monument. Because the sheet was never folded and sits on heavy stock, it lies flat and frames cleanly.
