First published in 1929, this USGS topographic sheet was printed in 1950 and remains in excellent condition, very lightly handled and never folded on thick stock. The 15-minute quad takes in high desert country northeast of Grand Junction in Garfield and Mesa counties, including part of the Little Book Cliffs Wilderness Study Area along the drainage of Roan Creek. The Little Book Cliffs region is known for its wild horses and rugged canyon terrain, and the flawless map area and untouched collar—marked only by a very light inventory stamp on the lower edge—make this an unusually clean survivor. With no foldlines and a flat sheet, it lends itself well to framing.
