This USGS 7.5-minute topographic map is a 1983 edition printed in 1984, and the sheet is in excellent condition, lightly handled and never folded on thick stock. It covers an 8-by-9-mile stretch of western Kauai about 16 miles west of Lihue, taking in Waimea Canyon, the deep gorge for which the quad is named. With a 40-foot contour interval tracing that rugged terrain, the map lays out the folds and ridgelines of one of Kauai’s most dramatic landscapes, and because it was never folded it would frame well.
