Printed in its year of first publication, 1948, this vintage Fitzsimons sheet is in good condition, with foldlines and minor discoloration along some of them from moderate handling; it’s on thick stock. The quad sits on the east side of the Denver metro area, taking in parts of Aurora and Greenwood Village across Adams, Arapahoe, and Denver counties, drawn from a 1938 and 1939 field survey. It captures the area from present-day Montview Boulevard south toward Cherry Creek and from Dayton Street east to what is now Buckley, showing the ground before the Cherry Creek Reservoir was built and before the modern interstate and loop system reshaped the region. The reverse carries printed reference material about the USGS mapping program of the time.
