Printed in its year of first publication, 1949, this 7.5-minute USGS topographic sheet is in fair condition, lightly handled with foldlines and some age discoloration along them, and printed on thick stock. Drawn from a 1939 field survey, it takes in the country south of Denver across parts of Arapahoe, Denver, and Douglas counties, including the area around present-day Highlands Ranch, Littleton, and Englewood. The sheet records a pre-suburban landscape stretching roughly from Belleview Avenue to Southridge and from Elati Street east to I-25, back when only about a hundred homes stood within these bounds.
