Coal Creek Colorado Aurora USGS Topographic Map 1942 Antique
$45
Printed in its year of first publication, 1942, this USGS 7.5-minute topographic sheet is in good condition, never folded and on thick stock, with only moderate handling to show. It takes in country east of Denver in the vicinity of Aurora, spanning parts of Adams and Arapahoe counties within its roughly seven-by-nine-mile boundaries. Drawn from a 1939 field survey under geographer V.M. Burtis, it shows the area as it was in the early 1940s, before the postwar growth that reshaped Denver’s eastern edge—the clean map area survives without markings or blemishes, carrying only an inventory notation handwritten in the lower right collar corner.
