This USGS 15-minute topographic map is a 1961 edition printed in 1975, and the sheet is in excellent condition: very lightly handled and never folded, with a flawless map area. Covering roughly 12 by 17 miles about 70 miles southeast of Portland, the quad spans parts of Clackamas, Jefferson, Marion, and Wasco counties and takes in portions of the Mount Hood National Forest and the Warm Springs Indian Reservation. The Cascade backcountry it depicts, where national forest and reservation land meet, is the kind of high, timbered terrain that rewards a close look at the contour lines. Because the sheet was never folded, it lies flat and is well suited to framing.
